On Mauni Amavasya, the third and biggest bathing festival of Magh Mela, a silent dip in the Sangam will take place on Saturday, but before that infinite waves of faith have erupted. On Friday, all the 17 bathing ghats including the Sangam got drowned in the flow of faith in the early morning itself. Devotees kept moving forward in long queues on pontoon bridges, walking at an ant pace. There is neither the worry of getting tired on any face nor the worry of walking miles away, everyone is only competing to reach the confluence age.
By late evening, the Mela administration claimed 80 lakh devotees had taken bath. Amidst dense fog and bone-shaking cold, the caravan of devotees started moving on the streets of Sangam from Thursday night itself. Due to crowd coming out from all sides, the fair administration stopped the entry of vehicles in the fair area at night itself. Due to this, long queues of pedestrians started on the roads leading to Sangam from Jhunsi, Naini, Phaphamau. The train started running on the pontoon bridges. Thousands of people got stuck due to the pressure of the crowd at Triveni Pontoon bridge at 8 am.

Somehow the people moved ahead with little hesitation, then after two hours the situation became comfortable. A similar crowd was visible from Kali Ghat, Ram Ghat to Sangam. There was no place left even to change clothes at the bathing ghats. Along with making a large number of night shelters in the parade on behalf of the fair administration, the guest shelter with 500 beds built on Akshayavat Marg was also filled to the brim.
